Alley Pond Environmental Center

The Alley Pond Environmental Center, Inc. (APEC) is located at 228-06 Northern Boulevard, just east of the Cross Island Parkway. We are a one story building with parking behind the center.

Public Transportation-Subway and Bus: Flushing Line (#7 train) to Main St.; Q12 bus to Northern Blvd.(East). APEC has a bus stop just outside the Center. It is the first building on the right after the X-Island Parkway. The Long Island Raildroad also stops at Bayside, where you can walk south to Northern Blvd. and catch the Q12.

Directions from Manhattan-Take the Midtown tunnel to the L.I.E. Stay on the L.I.E. until you get to the Clearview Expressway exit. (Northbound towards the Throgs Neck Bridge). Take the Clearview to the Northern Boulevard East exit. Make a right turn into Northern Boulevard. Go straight for approximately 3 miles. APEC is located just past the Cross Island Expressway on the right.

Directions from Brooklyn (also see from Kennedy Airport) -Take the B.Q.E. to the L.I.E. Stay on L.I.E. to the Clearview Expressway exit northbound towards the Throgs Neck Bridge. Exit at Northern Boulevard. Make a right turn into Northern Boulevard. Travel east on Northern Boulevard for approximately 3 miles. APEC is located just past the Cross Island Expressway on the right.

Directions from Kennedy Airport-Belt Parkway east to Cross Island Parkway North. Exit Cross Island Parkway at Northern Blvd. East (Exit 31E). APEC will be the first building on the right as you come off the exit ramp.

Directions from LaGuardia Airport-Grand Central Parkway east to Whitestone Expressway to Cross Island Parkway south. Exit Cross Island Parkway at Northern Blvd. (Exit 31E). APEC will be on the right as you come off the exit ramp.

Directions from Queens-Long Island Expressway east to the Clearview Expressway (Northbound towards the Throgs Neck Bridge). Exit at Northern Blvd. Make a right into Northern Blvd. Go straight ahead for approximately 3 miles. APEC is located just past the Cross Island Expressway on the right.

Directions from Nassau & Suffolk-Take either Southern State Parkway, Northern State Parkway (Grand Central Parkway) or the Long Island Expressway WEST to Cross Island Parkway north. Exit Cross Island Parkway at Northern Blvd. (Exit 31E). APEC will be on the right side as you come off the exit ramp.

Directions from The Bronx-The Whitestone Bridge to the Cross Island Expressway (stay in left lane). Exit at Northern Blvd East. APEC is the first building on the right.

Directions from the North-(Whitestone Bridge/Throgs Neck Bridge) Take either the Cross Island Parkway south or Clearview Expressway south. Exit at Northern Blvd. East. APEC is on the right hand side just east of the Cross Island Parkway.
